30 January 2026 – The Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) welcomes with revolutionary fervor the decisive action taken by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation to declare the Israeli Chargé d’Affaires, Mr. Ariel Seidman, persona non grata. We applaud the government for giving this agent of the apartheid Israeli regime 72 hours to vacate our sovereign soil.
This expulsion is long overdue. The conduct of the Israeli officials, as detailed by DIRCO, displays the typical arrogance of Zionism. By using official platforms to undermine the South African government this was demonstrated with the concealing visits of senior Israeli officials, they have proven that they do not respect South Africa, our territorial integrity, our hardfought democratic institutions and sovereign foreign policy.
We therefore call on the South African government to use this momentum to take the logical next step. We are saying, “Close the Israeli Embassy in Pretoria entirely, recall all South African diplomats from Tel Aviv, and fully sever diplomatic ties with the State of Israel until Palestine is free.”
We say good riddance to Mr. Seidman. Do not let the door hit you on the way out.
