The Young Communist League of South Africa (YCLSA) is shocked by statements made by one Mr Mthunzi Mdwaba on National Television this morning, claiming that Ministers and Luthuli House is requesting “GateWay Fees” for the implementation of

the project. By his own admission, the Thuja Holdings that is purported to be capaci-tated to deliver employment for the vast majority of the country was two weeks when

his ‘friend’ signed the deal. We are shocked by these statements because unemployment especially among the youth is at unparalleled levels and not a quick money-making scheme. This is a shame

because this Mr Mdwaba guy comes across as a gossiper, lie peddler and rumor mon-ger. He is a desperate attention seeker. This we believe because he hasn’t met the

people, he claims requested the so-called GateWay fees and isn’t prepared to lay criminal charges with the authorities. Mr Mdwaba is apparently prepared to have a public debate with the said Ministers but failed to verify with them whether the so-called requests were authentic or what. Mr Mdwaba’s logic is particularly disturbing that he doesn’t trust the Government of the day but is eager to fight for a deal with the very same Government. We plead with Mr Mdwaba not to take us especially the unemployed and job seeking youth for granted belittling our plight. We are perplexed by his level of desperation to the extent that he claims that almost everyone seemingly has a problem or ‘beef’ with him. His self-adulation is unheard of

and unprecedented. We call on Mr Mdwaba to desist and disabuse himself from pro-filing and seeking media coverage with especially the subject of employment and un-employment that has become so sensitive in our society with the majority of especially

the youth yearning for employment.

We call on the Minister of Employment and Labour Mr Thulas Nxesi, Minister of Higher Education Prof. Blade Nzimande and Minister of Finance Mr Enoch Godongwana as well the ANC SG Cde Fikile Mbalula to file a matter of defamation of character against Mr Mthunzi Mdwaba if they are to vindicate themselves on this gossip. Mr Mthunzi Mdwaba cannot just come and prank the whole country with unfounded assertions on such a sensitive issue and go unchallenged. He has got to be taken to task
